imagine if Christopher went to school with me, or was even my brother. How would I interact with him?
If I knew Christopher personally, I would definitely try to interact with Christopher in a way that he would feel comfortable. I would try to understand what was going on inside of his mind and respect it. I would try to focus on his interests and how he feels about certain facts. I might try to help him understand things that he doesn't, but if he got frusterated I would let it go. I think that patience is the key. When Christopher had one of his black days, I woulde have to leave him be. The only time that I would interfere would be when the situation isn't safe for Christopher.
There aren't many people that Christopher actually likes and trusts, but I would want to be that person for Christopher. I would try to make him feel that he was safe with me, and I would never lie to Christopher. From reading this novel, I became very interested in aspergers, and would love to do more research on it. You never know, one day I could end up helping children with aspergers.

Curious Incident- Journal #4
This journal is about trust and the importance of trust to Christopher.
When Christopher finds out that his Father was lying about his mother, and the death of Wellington, he looses his composure and himself. When someone that loves you lies about two huge things going on, of course you would be upset and angry. The difference is that Christopher cannot identify those emotions. He didn't understand that his father would never do that to him. As far as Christopher knows, if his dad killed a dog, his dad could kill anyone else.
Christopher feels that since his Father lied about two things, his dad may be lying about everything else too. With his state of mind, he becomes completely overwhelmed and in order to keep himself safe, he hides and runs away.
Christopher's mind does work differently than our minds. When I read the book, I sometimes wished I could get inside the mind of Christopher and teach him about emotions. Once I thought about that, I realized that Christopher probably doesn't understand my mind and would think that my thoughts are abnormal and illogical. It is interesting to look at both perspectives.

In this journal, rather than focussing on Christophers weaknesses, I am focussing on his strong points. Christopher is an extremely intelligent person. His knowledge having to do with science, mathematics, and technology are incredible. Christopher can solve the most complicated problems using logic, skill and organization.
Another great trait of Christopher's is his determination and persistance. I don't think that Christopher realizes it, but when he has a goal that is important to him he will sacrifice a lot, including his time. He will especially sacrifice himself feeling comfortable to achieve a goal. For example, when Christopher is investigating Wellington's death, he goes way out of his comfort zone by speaking to strangers who logically could easily hurt him or kill him.
Aside from Christophers weaknesses that cause barriers in his everyday life, he has some fantastic strengths that help him. Christopher is improving more and more everyday. Because of his ecxeptional skills in certain areas, it is quite possible he will have a very successful life ahead of him.

I found it fascinating the way Christopher uses his visuals to process and understand most things. Some of the visuals he used include charts, maps, pictures and lists. He needs to have a plan or a visual understanding of everything that he see's and does. This is his way of processing information. Christopher not only needs these visuals, but he really enjoys them too. He likes them so much because he understands them and feels comfortable with that fact and organization.

From reading the first paragraph of the novel, I learned that Christopher is very logical and literal. He thinks extremely clearly of all possibilities, but with lack of certainity. I can tell that he likes facts because he knows that there are no hidden rules. I think that logic is very important to him.
Christopher seems observant and knowledgable. He knows exactly what time it is, and observes all of his surroundings. I am a very observant person as well. The difference between Christopher and I is that I can take my observations and create inferences from them. I am comfortable with the unkown where as Christopher would become frightened and confused.

Act 2, Scene 2
Juliet's talk of Romeo's name.
When Juliet says those lines, she is questioning whether a name makes the person. She is stating that there is no reason that her and Romeo shouldn't be together. This family name doeesn't reflect who Romeo is ,and shouldn't stop him from being with his love. She questions what a name is ,"is it nor hand, nor foot..". What Juliet means by this is so what, if names didn't exist, they would still be perfect for eachother, what does it matter? Juliet hates that names are so important, which is awful since her parents only care about name and reputation.
Act 2, Scene 2
Juliets wish that Romeo not swear by the moon when he professes his love for her.
The reason that Juliet doesn't want Romeo to swear their love by the moon , is that it changes so rapidly. The moon moves and changes form , but Juliet is very content with the way their love is. she doesn't want anything to change between them.

Their love being compared to lightning
I think that the love between Romeo and Juliet was compared to lightning because it is so vast, quick, and powerful. They were complete strangers, but the moment they saw eachother they fell inlove. The love between them was so strong, they died for eachother. Everything happened so quickly , they saw eachother fell inlove, and died.

Journal #5
Shakespeare used incredable imagery in the play. A lot of events were fore shadowed, in other words premonitions were made. The following are premonitions from Romeo and Juliet that play a significant role in the play.
Scene 5, Act 1
"My grave is like to be my wedding-bed." -Juliet
Juliet is reffering to the fact that if Romeo isn't willing to marry her, or is already married, that she will never marry. Her wedding bed will be her grave. Some could also think of it as if she must marry someone else , she will kill herself. The ironic part is that technically, Juliets wedding bed is her grave. Shakespeare used several phrases which in the end were true for two different reasons. A lot of these were premonitions.

"they stumble that run fast" - Friar Laurence
This quote was a warning from Friar Laurence. He was telling Romeo that he not need to hury, to take things slower and think them through, it will not play out so smooth if you rush into things. I think that Friar Laurence was directing this advice not only to their love, but to all of Romeo's descisions, in general not to act so irrational. This warning served as a significant premonition. Look what happened, Romeo was so rash, and all of the events and emotions in the play came so quickly (and sometimes went). In the end, Romeo sure did stumble, he died.

"O, break my heart! poor bankrupt, break at once!
To prison, eyes, ne'er look on liberty!
Vile earth, to earth resign; end motion here;
And thou and Romeo press one heavy bier!" - Juliet
At this point, Juliet believes that Romeo is dead. Her heart is broken, and she wants to die. She is saying that her and Romeo will share a coffin. This is a premonition in a couple of ways. First of all this is showing that if one of them die, the other will commit suicide. Juliet thinks that Romeo is dead , and talks of dying. Romeo thinks that Juliet is dead and kills himself. Juliet finds Romeo dead, and commits suicide. This quote shows the strength of their love, and portrays that neither one can live without the other. It also usues imagery when Juliet says "And thou and Romeo press one heavy bier!" They will be buried in one coffin together. In the end, they die side by side, and were buried in one coffin.
